Description of the Domaine Esmonin Sylvie
The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin reveals great aromatic intensity and plenty of vibrancy in its dark fruit. All of the elements build nicely towards the enveloping, textured finish. It shows lovely tension for the vintage. Esmonin used 30% whole bunches for the Gevrey.
Alen Meadows : 91 points
"Here the nose is similar to that of the straight Gevrey but with more spice and floral influences. As is always the case, the medium weight plus flavors possess better mid-palate concentration as well as more power and richness, all wrapped in a robust, firm and built-to-age finish. It’s relatively rare to find villages level wines of this quality."
